Distribution maps taken from Welter-Schultes, F. 2012: European non-marine molluscs, a guide for species identification. Pp A1-A3, 1-679, Q1-Q78.

Europe in this work included Cyprus and Turkey's western regions, but not the eastern Atlantic islands (Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores) and the Caucasus region. In the east the area extended approximately to the Moscow region. Iceland was also included.
Non-marine molluscs included all non-marine of Gastropoda and Bivalvia species except several hundred species of the Hydrobioidea and related groups of very small freshwater snails.
