English: On December 25-26, 2010, Moscow region experienced an unusual, and unusually long, ice rain: heavy rain at subzero temperatures near ground level. Rainwater immediately froze on contact with surface; pileup of solid ice disrupted electric power, air travel, killed thousands of trees. It was followed by a continuous show fall that continued into January.
