The Croatian referendum on independence was held in May 1991, with 93% of voters supporting the independence. On 25 June 1991 the Croatian parliament (Croatian: Sabor) proclaimed the Croatian independence. In 2016 on this day croatians celebrated their independence, and the croatian football team played againts the portugalians in the Euro 2016 plays. All over the town folks were wearing the croatian flag, sitting in bars and cheering for the croatian team. Karlovacko Beach Club (on the sea shore), bars, cafes.
