English: Davis Square is a major intersection in northwestern Somerville, Massachusetts where several streets meet: Holland, Dover, Day and Elm Streets, and Highland and College Avenues. Thename also refers to the neighborhood surrounding the square. The squar was given official status by Somervile in 1883, and is named after Person Davis, a grain dealer. The Davis stop on the MBTA Red Line services the square. Tufts University is nearby.
