English: David Via is an American bluegrass musician from Patrick County, Virginia. He was the winner of the 2009 Mountain Stage/American Folk Alliance Songwriters Contest. He's won the MerleFest Chris Austin songwriter prize three times. He appears with Danny Knicely, Will Lee, and others — and is the father of musician Mason Via.
