The Dashing Wave was a medium clipper ship built in 1853 by Fernald & Pettigrew, Portsmouth for Samuel Tilton & Co., Boston. 1866 sold to Washington Libby & Co., 1900 to Thomas Scott & J.A. Stewart, Tacoma and 1902 to Taku Canning Co. and was reduced to a barge. 1922 stranded on the mud flats at Seymour Narrows and became a total loss.
Her dimensions were: length × beam × depth = 181.7 × 39.5 × 21.3 ft (55.3 × 12 × 6.4 m) and tonnage: 1180 tons OM and 1054 tons NM.[1]
