English: Cupronickel is an alloy of copper and nickel. The common alloy is silver in color and is used in the U.S. nickel. It is also cladded with copper in larger coins. An earlier alloy had a higher copper content and was more yellow in color. Used in the U.S. cent, it was lighter than pure copper or bronze, and the results were known as "white cents".
