English: In the Anglophone language area it is distinguished with Cocoyam between Old Cocoyam and New Cocoyam. Concerning West Africa is meant mostly New Cocoyam (Tannia) from the type Xanthosoma. Cocoyam sheets, in so far as they find use with the preparation of dishes, are called in Ghana also Kontomire, as a whole food also Agushi (Cocoyam goulash).
Deutsch: Im anglophonen Sprachraum wird bei Cocoyam unterschieden zwischen Alten Cocoyam and Neuen Cocoyam. Hinsichtlich Westafrika ist zumeist Neuer Cocoyam (Tannia) aus der Gattung Xanthosoma gemeint. Cocoyam-Blätter, insofern sie bei der Zubereitung von Speisen Verwendung finden, werden in Ghana auch Kontomire genannt, als Gesamtspeise auch Agushi (Cocoyam-Gulasch).
