Coat of arms description: "The princely coat of arms is a four-way shield with a black heart shield with a gold letter L, the heart shield is covered by a princely crown. Standing on a gold-leaf crown in the first and fourth blue fields of the great shield, the crowned golden griffin turns inwards, holds a golden-protective curved sword in its raised right (left), and three green-stemmed and leafy red roses with gold in its forward left (right), which is the ancient coat of arms itself. The second and third fields are cut in red and silver, upturned by the crowned golden lion growing from the dividing line, holding inwards, three silver roses with green stems and leaves in the raised left (right), three red roses with five petals running in gold at the bottom. Felső vár (Belső vár) Esterházyak címere (a család fraknói hercegi ágának birodalmi címere ez.) a kapu felett (kb. 1695 és 1713). A címerleírás kozterkep.hu alapján : "A hercegi címer négyelt pajzs fekete szívpajzzsal, amelyben egy arany L betű látható, a szívpajzsot hercegi korona fedi. A nagy pajzs első és negyedik kék mezejében aranyleveles koronán álló koronás aranygriff befelé fordulva, felemelt jobbjában (baljában) arany védvasú görbe kardot, előre tartott baljában (jobbjában) pedig három zöld szárú és levelű, arannyal futtatott vörös rózsát tart, ami maga az ősi címerkép. A második és harmadik mező vörössel és ezüsttel vágott, fenn az osztóvonalból növekvő koronás aranyoroszlán befelé fordulva, fölemelt baljában (jobbjában) három zöld szárú és levelű ezüstrózsát tart, lent három, arannyal futtatott ötszirmú vörös rózsa.
