"Description:  [Perfected] practice clavier (mute piano) by Virgil Practice Clavier Company, London / Berlin 1901. This is an interesting and usual model of the [Perfected] practice clavier (mute piano) by Virgil Practice Clavier Company, London / Berlin 1901. The dummy keyboard was in use before this version was manufactured but in 1890 or thereabouts the Virgil Company invented the Virgil practice clavier which was rather more elaborate. The instrument is collapsible and is semi mechanical to reproduce the feeling and tension of a piano keyboard to practice on without producing any sound. The item comes with family history and provenance. ",
