English: The parish church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, and St. Patrick in Goleen belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross and was built by the parish priest Father John Foley (1848–1855) and consecrated by the Bishop of the diocese of Cork on 11 October 1854.
