This is one of two lighthouses with the official name "Cape George Light" in Nova Scotia -- see Canadian Atlantic Coast Light List numbers 892 (this one) and 840 (the other one).

This category is for the one at the end of Lighthouse Road, off NS 337 near Ballantyne's Cove, on the Cape at the northwest end of Canso Strait.

The other is 85 kilometres (53 miles) away on the south shore of Bras d'Or Lake on Cape Breton Island and is also a red and white lighthouse.
