Cannery transport ships were freight-and-passenger ships used to carry supplies and workers to remote canneries and carry the product back to market. Some were purpose-built, others were re-purposed clipper ships. They were sometimes called cannery tenders but that term is more commonly used for smaller workboats that supported cannery operations and transported fish.
