C-type sockets are unearthed sockets, which also suitable to Schuko plugs. Story of their existing began to times, when earth was required only for appliances which exceeds 20 A or 1000 V. In Soviet Union it was compensated by thin holes and altitude, but nowadays homeowners improperly drill those holes. In Europe those sockets are more danger, cause rules require to install on low altitude and holes are suitable to put there Schuko plugs, that way devices with metal cover become lethally ungrounded. Those sockets are suitable to use only with 2 class devices and through RCD (0++ or 2+ classes, cause it is impossible to make 01 class in living houses).
