English: The solid Stone Fence, its roughly cut limestone walls up to 1.6 metres high and 40 centimetres wide, stretches along the east and south sides of the 100 block of 17th Street, a residential area near a main entrance to downtown Brandon. Built over four years starting in ca. 1900, the fence is part of an estate structure that once encircled the entire block. It now partially borders seven houses erected after the property was subdivided in 1939.
Français : La robuste clôture de pierre, aux murs de 1,6 m de hauteur et de 40 cm d'épaisseur constitués de pierre calcaire taillée grossièrement, longe le côté est et le côté sud du bloc 100 de la 17e Rue, quartier résidentiel situé à proximité d'une voie d'accès principale au centre-ville de Brandon. La clôture, dont la construction s'est étalée sur une période de quatre ans vers 1900, fait partie d'un domaine qui jadis ceintura la totalité du bloc. Elle borde maintenant sept maisons érigées après la subdivision de la propriété en 1939.
