English: The so-called Black Star is a monument in the kind of an ancient city gate on the Independence Square (Ghana) in the quarter Osu of the Ghanaian capital Accra (in the former Danish part of Accra). The place and monument was commissioned by the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah, to honour the visit of the British Queen Elizabeth II.
