7 Riversdale Road, Liverpool, known as Battlecrease House, was the home of James Maybrick, a Liverpool cotton merchant, and his wife Florence. He died there in 1889 of arsenic poisoning and Florence was charged with, and convicted of, his murder. However, her guilt was in doubt and her death sentence was commuted.
