Deutsch: Baltimore ( irisch: Dún na Séad – Dun der Juwelen) ist einer der südlichsten Orte in Irland und eine kleine Hafenstadt südwestlich von Skibbereen im County Cork. Der anglisierte Name stammt jedoch vom irischen Baile an Tí Mhóir (Ort des großen Hauses) und bezieht sich auf die Burg der O'Driscoll. Der Clan, dessen Name von Ó hEidirsceoil abstammt, beherrschte die Gegend. Der Name Érainn geht auf die Fir Bolg zurück.

English: Baltimore is located in western County Cork, Ireland. Baltimore is the principal village of the parish of Rath and the Islands, the southern most parish in Ireland. It is the main ferry port to Sherkin Island, Cape Clear Island and the eastern side of Roaring Water Bay (Loch Trasna) and Carbery's Hundred Isles.

Svenska: Baltimore ( ir. Dún na Séad efter en borg tillhörig klanen O'Driscoll, eller Baile an Tighe Mór), en mindre stad i västra delen av County Cork, Irland. Stadens namn betyder "vitt hus" på iriska. Färjetrafik går från Baltimore till Schull, Sherkin Island och Clear Island. Baltimore plundrades 1631 av algeriska kapare, vilka tillfångatog över 100 av byns invånare och sålde dem som slavar. Det anses att Napoleon fick sin vittkända vita märr från denna irländska stad.
