- 1st attack: On SUNDAY, 20 AUGUST 1944, time 10:32 to 11:00, 127 B-17 bombers (Fifteenth Air Force) attacked dropping 1336 pieces 500 lb. GP bombs, altitude of release 26,100 - 29,500 ft., 20-30% clouds over target. The main weight of the attack fell on the central and eastern parts (oil refineries at Auschwitz III).[1]
- 2nd attack: On WEDNESDAY, 13 SEPTEMBER 1944, time 11:17 to 11:20, 96 B-24 bomber (Fifteenth Air Force, 464th BG) attacked with 943 pieces 500 lb. RDX filled bombs, height of 22,300 - 24,000 ft., visibility poor. Targets were the Auschwitz oil and synthetic rubber works and the Cracow-Auschwitz area. [2]
- 3rd attack: On MONDAY, 18 DECEMBER 1944, time 11:20 to 12:17, two B-17's and 47 B-24 bomber (Fifteenth Air Force, 459th BG) with 436 500 lb. RDX filled bombs, height of 22,900 - 24,000 ft.. They hit oil refineries at Auschwitz. [3]
- 4th attack: On TUESDAY, 26 DECEMBER 1944, time 12:16 to 12:21, 95 B-24 bomber (Fifteenth Air Force) with 679 pieces 500 lb. RDX filled bombs, alt. 22,200 - 24,700 ft. IG plant at Auschwitz.
