English: Classic Judaic views on astrology differ from rejection to qualified acceptance. In general, Rabbinic Judaism held that God governs the world through the Constellations (Mazalot), but that the Jews can transcend astrological limitations ("Israel is not governed by a Mazal"). Using astrology as divination is forbidden in Judaism. The 12 Tribes of Israel relate to the 12 astrological months. Practical Kabbalah describes a Jewish version of astrology, based on the Sephirot.
