- The park’s centerpiece is the parabolic Modernist building, designed by Ely Jacques Kahn in 1941 for the Municipal Asphalt Plant. It is a New York City Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places in Manhattan.
- Park is location of public recreation and arts facilities, outdoors and inside the former asphalt plant building.
