The Ashesi University College (mostly only called Ashesi University) is a private, non-profit institution of education in Ghana financed by the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation. The college was established in 2002 as Ghanaian college of the Ashesi Foundation, a charitable organization based in Seattle (Washington, USA). Founder of the school is Patrick Awuah, a former engineer of the Microsoft Corporation. Self-declared aim of this school is “…to educate a new generation of ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa” by means of a 4-years’ bachelor course.
