Established in 2001, Art Alive Gallery is an independent and professional art gallery that is known for endorsing and supporting Indian Contemporary Art. Ever since its inception, the gallery has marked its presence with works of over two hundred senior and young artists from different parts of India. The gallery seeks to balances itself by supporting contemporary, young talent along with the likes of older, established masters[1].
Contribution to the present art scenario is a constant factor with this gallery and it has sought to cement that aspect with a sustained interest in art publications. Amongst the archival publications are sketches on the life and art of legendary artists such as Mandala on S. H. Raza and Thota Vaikuntam on T. Vaikuntam in the ‘Master Series’, which plans to embrace different artist, and a varying range of works[2]. The other acclaimed publication is ‘Faces of Indian Art[3]’ which is the first volume that offers an inside view into the studio of the artist through the lens of Nemai Ghosh and has a profile text by distinguished art writers and critics. The gallery’s list of publications also include, an illustrated book of articles and visuals on Shuvaprassana two more covering the life and sculptures on K.S. Radhakrishnan, and another on Paresh Maity, and S.H Raza, the details of which are to be found on the website of the gallery.
In addition, Art Alive has very actively showcased works of august Indian artists Thota Vaikuntam and Sujata Bajaj with participation in the Singapore Art Fair, 2008[4], it also showcased the works of 24 artists, in the Arad International Biennale, 2005[5], Romania, and of very recently, its participation with 45 artists, in the 2nd India Art Summit (2009)[6], and the year before with the 1st India Art Summit[7] was widely noted. In the international front too, Art Alive gallery has actively sought to cultivate an awareness of contemporary Indian art by holding shows in the London’s Royal College of Arts (2007)[8] which generated a considerable amount of interest.
The Art Alive gallery also supports and presents art projects of creative merit and cultural resonance through its foundation, The Art Alive Foundation (TAAF) which attempts to particularly seek and associate works that challenge the audience with new ways of perception.

Indian Art[10][edit]
A Perspective on Process - By Geeti Sen[edit]
Painting is most significantly, a process of realisation: from that initial point of stimulus, reverie or impassioned response to its transposition into the mind’s eye of the artist and her/his tentative experiments – to a stage when the image is brought ‘to life’ on paper or canvas. This is the final moment of realisation; but the journey remains equally relevant.
Emerging India : Young Contemporaries - By Parul Dave Mukherjee with contributions from Giridhar Khasnis & Nandini Ghosh[edit]
A Good Taste and a Fair business sense - that is all that takes to make a smart investment in art. It is a myth that as a pre-requisite for buying art, one has to have a great art vocabulary, with the history of the evolution of art on the fingertips and a knowledge bank to distinguish one art form from another. It is instead a simpler theory.
