English: Slide rules by Dennert & Pape Aristo-Werke, Hamburg/Germany, founded by J.C. Dennert in 1862 and producing slide rules from 1872. In 1888 the company got a patent for an Unchangeable Ruler, a celluloid veneer on mahogany. From 1936 the new material Astralon (PVC polymer) was used. In the 1950s the model lines Scholar for students and Studio for engineers set new standards.[1]
