English: Buda Arboretum. Almost eight hectares area is planted around buildings. The first species are here since 1893. Can see more than 1400 ligneous species. Several rare exotic plants growing in the garden thanks to favourable conditions. Situated on the southern foot of the 235m high Gellért Hill.The yearly participation around 620mm to which 150-200mm irrigation water addded on vegetation period. The soil are strongly eroded humus carbonate, a brown wood soil and subsoil consisting clay and lime. The content of active calcium is high the Ph level is eight. Thanks to its position the summer is hot and the winter is mild. - Open to the Public. - To get in: take tram no. 61 from Móricz Zsigmond körtér (Square) and get off at 2nd stop.
