Group of the Three Graces (Charities) Found in 1981 (head)- 1982 (bodies) at pool number 1-8 of Perge's South Bath. Roman. Second century AD, Antonine period. After Hellenistic orignals. H. 1,79 m. 2nd century AD (Antonine period). Most myths hold these sisters were daughters of Eurynome (herself daughter of Oceanus) and Zeus. Named Aglaia (brilliance), Euphrosyne (joy), Thalia (bloom) they attended feasts of Olympic gods and mortals. In some stories the number is different. The accompanied Aphrodite, serving her and beautifying her when she wanted to seduce. In ancient times they were dressed, by the end of the fourth century BC they were in the nude.
