A notice explains that this is the (east) side of a sarcophagus with two figural sides. On this side an "Anatolian dynast from the western part of Hellespontine Phrygia was depicted here both in hunting and battle scenes, probably fighting a Greek in the latter. The dynast commisioned this distinctive sacrophagus probably sometimes in the 1st quarter of the 4th century."
