April 22, 1909 in Erfurt) was a teacher and painter. 1848-1850 lieutenant in the Schleswig-Holstein army, 1861-1888 principal of the Barmen-Wupperfeld secondary school; active artistically in Kiel around the middle of the 19th century; his topographically precise landscape sketches of Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark are particularly worth mentioning; Father of Georg Burmester
