English: The Joseph B. and Josephine H. Bissell House is at 46 West 55th Street, between Fifth Avenue and the Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue), in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was built in 1869 by Thomas Thomas for John W. Stevens as an Italianate style brownstone. It was altered in 1903-1904 by Edward L. Tilton for the Bissells and redesigned as a neoclassical style. The town house was designated a NYC landmark in 2010. (Source: Landmarks Preservation Commission)
