1939 Maserati 4CL 1,5 litre engine, s/n 1564.

  • "The 1938 prototype, 6 inches shorter than s/n 1566 since 1564 was built on a 4CM chassis".[1]
  • 4 April 1939. Done.[2]
  • 1939 Tripoli GP.[3] Entry #18. Carlo Felice Trossi, 18th place.
  • 1940 Tripoli GP.[4] Entry #12 Villoresi, 4th place.
  • 1946, April 22: GP Nice. Discordide Lanza for Ecurie Naphtra (did not appear...) [5] Branca sold to Michaud in late 1946.[6]
  • 1947, May 18: 6e GP Marseilles, Circuit Prado, François Michaud [7]
  • 1947, June 1: 3e Grand Prix de Nîmes, François Michaud [8] Michaud sold/lent it to Branca in mid 1947.[9]
  • 1947, August 10: Grand Prix du Comminges, Antoine Branca.[10]. Branca sold it mid 1948 (and got s/n 1582 instead).[11]
  • 1949, May 22: Raced by Charles Reimann at Preis der Ostschweiz.[12][13]
  • 1960s. Owned by Chris Drake in London, UK.
  • 1981. Drake offered it for sale.
  • 1992. Auctioned for almost USD 300,000 at Monaco.
  • 2005. Owned by Rodney Smith, who has had it for a 3.5 year ground up restoration: Engine+gear by Martin Morris, Body and chassis by Duncan Ricketts. Smith also owns 4CL s/n 1566. 1564 was raced HGPCA at Silverstone by Mark Gillies and so.[14] Smith was killed in 2007 in a bicycle accident aged 67.[15]
  • 2010. Sold to Paddins Dowling who raced it at Sears Point and Monterey Historics.
  • 2013, March 8–10. Phillips Island Classic Festival of Sports. Entered by Paddins Dowling.[16]
  • 2013, October 27. video
  • 2015. Laguna Seca. Raced by Stephen Curtis of Carmel Valley, CA. Color: Darkish red. Raced around Monterey, California. Sonoma Historics.[17] Has #3 on rear left.[18][19]
