Altar of Hiero II (Syracuse)

• Italiano: Dell'altare di Gerone II a Siracusa (secolo III a.C.) resta solo la base, scolpita nella roccia, in quanto il monumento fu smantellato interamente nel XVI secolo, sotto la dominazione spagnola, per usarne le pietre per le fortificazioni della città.
• English: Out of the sacrificial altar of Hiero II, in Syracuse Archeological Park, dating from the 3rd century BC, only remains the base, the monument itself having being dismantled during the Spanish domination in order to reuse its stones.
