Summary[edit]

Description
English: In 1937, a lovely little painting was acquired by the Brooklyn Museum, and shortly afterwards tucked away into storage, perhaps because it had no frame. Initially attributed to Pierre-Auguste Renoir, it was prepared to be included in the Brooklyn Museum traveling exhibition French Moderns. Closer examination, however, revealed it to be a copy after the Impressionist painter. Its public debut will have to wait for an exhibition on copies!
