Salad definition

[edit]

Yam pla duk fu is only technically a salad. And in no case a fish salad. In practice when one is confronted with the reality of the dish: A large deep fried fluffy disk filling the whole plate with a little salad on the side, the word "salad" in defining it loses its meaning. Therefore I didn't put it under the salad category, for it could be misleading for those users who, wanting to try a new thing, order what they assume is a salad and then find themselves confronted with 90% deep-fried stuff.(Xufanc (talk) 01:36, 25 August 2011 (UTC))[reply]

I have allowed myself to remove the category:Fish salads, but if you feel strongly about this, you may reinstate it. Xufanc
the amount of vegetables is not defining for the "salad status". I refer to the wellknown pasta salads for this which hardly contain anything else but pasta. The (more or less) sour dressing and it being cold are apparently what constitutes a salad. I will therefor revert your edit again. - Takeaway (talk) 08:47, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
