Anonmoos, you're getting some sort of pleasure out of being obstinant aren't you. Why else would you be so opposed to simply correcting the colours to their official use? Fry1989 eh? 01:13, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately for you, the image description and categories (and even the name) of this file are highly-specific, so that when you upload a new version of the file without adjusting all the other details to correspond, it creates a discrepancy between the description and the actual image, which means that just uploading the SVG without doing anything else is an unproductive and unhelpful maneuver on your part. Furthermore, you're not just "correcting the colors", since your file uses completely different graphic techniques, and is greatly bloated in filesize (as is often the case with your SVG uploads).
Since so many different adjustments would have to be made in image description, categories, and name to properly reflect your SVG file, it would be greatly preferable if you would just start over and upload your file under a different name... AnonMoos (talk) 16:44, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Would you care to explain how the categories [Logos of the United States], [United States Bicentennial] and [Pentagrams] could possibly be affected negatively by this file having the proper colours? Or how they are specific to the wrong colours you are currently using? Or why you are so unwilling to just do it yourself if my "file-size bloating" is distasteful for you? You usually have a great attention span for accuracy. Fry1989 eh? 05:53, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The category Category:Generated by PostScript would not apply to an image version which was not generated by PostScript...
Something related, which I didn't explain before, is that while I cleaned up File:American revolution bicentennial.svg as best I knew how with the tools available to me, and eliminated anomalous graphic artefacts inside the red area, I didn't succeed in eliminating anomalous graphic artefacts (hairline cracks) where the blue and red areas meet (as you can see if you magnify the SVG file), and not all "horizontal" lines are actually fully horizontal, etc. In fact, it was because I was not entirely satisfied with my efforts on File:American revolution bicentennial.svg that I created this file, which was generated purely from an abstract geometrical specification by means of PostScript code -- which means that the file has no anomalous graphic artefacts, but also that it may possibly depart in some respects from the official 1976 Bicentennial specification. That's why this file has "geometry" in its name, and I don't really see what's served by overwriting it with an extract from File:American revolution bicentennial.svg (which has different problems), especially when the file description, names, and categories were not appropriately adjusted...
So I've now uploaded the other version to name File:United States Bicentennial star 1976 (no text).svg. AnonMoos (talk) 08:02, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
