Criticism of this map[edit]

While this map may be somewhat useful, as taught in my GIS class, it is clearly biased towards larger areas. First we notice that Russia is the biggest and therefore most likely to be full of oil; which isn't the truth... What needs to be done is that the data for major sources of oil be put onto a grid in raster form, then described because that will show where the oil is and how much. Of course, we run into a problem when we realize that we can't cram the realistic data together with socio-political boundaries. I think it's important to remember, that those can change easily and rapidly -especially in a world where scarce resources become more sought after-.
