Excuse-moi repliquer en anglais:

I have never seen this before. It is possible to leave out the hydrogen atoms or let them be represented by just a vertical line, but I don't think this works for the hydroxy groups as well. To my mind it is confusing—especially for non-chemists—since such "empty" bonds usually stand for methyl groups. --NEUROtiker ^⇌ 09:20, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
