Nitpicks[edit]

  • Bottom most line is missing an arrow head.
  • Colons (:) weirdly disappear or are hard to see in some sizes of the PNG version (this includes the version embedded at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/Indexing/RDF_Dump_Format). It's probably caused by the predicates' text being broken up into multiple elements in the SVG source (and the automatic rasterizer not having access to the specified font).

@NoInkling: : Fixed the first. I changed the font. Can you check if the second bug still occurs? -- Michael F. Schönitzer 00:35, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@MichaelSchoenitzer: Second issue is still happening, you should be able to see it yourself here (may need to refresh browser cache to get latest version). Additionally, for me, it's now rendering an ugly-looking serif fallback font in the SVG version since I don't have the new font installed (Liberation Sans). I believe the right way to do it is to specify a font fallback chain (although I'm not exactly sure which fonts should be used). Even so, I don't think that would fix the colon issue - I'm pretty sure it's caused by e.g: "schema:about" being broken into 3 separate <text> elements, each with it's own absolute position. It's possible that the software you're using is doing that automatically. I've taken the liberty of tagging the image for cleanup in case you need help (it's a little outside my area of expertise but I can give it a go if needed). --NoInkling (talk) 04:39, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NoInkling: : Ok, now I got you and also saw the issue. I cleaned it up and now the texts are working in the server-side rendered version. Will look into the font fallback chain. -- Michael F. Schönitzer 11:26, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@MichaelSchoenitzer: Looking at Help:SVG#Font_substitution_and_fallback_fonts, there's a suggestion to use font-family: 'Liberation Sans', Arial, sans-serif;, and over at w:Wikipedia:SVG_help#font-family_issues they also throw in Helvetica. Thanks for the prompt updates by the way. --NoInkling (talk) 12:07, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NoInkling: : should be done. -- Michael F. Schönitzer 23:10, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Everything looks good now, thanks for going to the effort. --NoInkling (talk) 03:52, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
