Focus[edit]

Odd that a sharper pic of this historic NYT page isn't available. Sca (talk) 15:00, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, not odd at all. Most libraries have deliberately destroyed their newspaper collections to free up space, and much historic material is only available in microfilm copy form (often much worse in focus and legibility than this). -- Infrogmation (talk) 21:12, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We should use clearest image[edit]

@Arlo Barnes: I think we should revert to the 5 April 2021 version of this image because the earlier image is clearer, without dark shading, and much smaller in file size. Is there a reason you've chosen a darker, distorted image? RCraig09 (talk) 20:30, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned in the section above, the distinction is between page scans and microfilm scans (which flatten shades to a binary white/black). In any case, I would be happy to revert to the oldid you mention (edit:done), I just wanted the larger copies in the revision history. Arlo James Barnes 20:49, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
