Why was the size of the image reduced? /Lokal_Profil 01:28, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's a bit hard for me to explain it in english but I'll try: this image was supressed because it was thought to be a derivative work (see here). I was not sure about this and I asked on the page that deal with legal issues if there was any troubles with an image that looks like a ligthsaber but which has an original design for the grip. If you understand french, you can read the answer here, otherwise I'll try to summarize :
The answer was that there is no trouble of copyright but that if such an image was commercialized (as a poster for example), it might be confused with an official product of the trademark and thus be considered as being counterfeit. So if the image was small enough (the answer said "the size of a thumbnail", maybe I didn't reduce it enough), then it would avoid an accusation of counterfeit because the trademark won't commercialized an image with such a size.
I hope I have been clear enough and that I haven't made too much mistakes. Sayan 08:09, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
