"evidence of permission"[edit]

I'm not entirely clear what is being asked for here. I did not create the sign in the image, but I did take the picture. I did not get permission from the political extremists who were displaying the sign before taking the photograph. The sign employs simple formatting and the image used is pretty obviously a headshot of Obama. It can reasonably be assumed that the headshot is an official work of the US federal government and therefore not subject to copyright, even in this modified form. Hi Beeblebrox. Can you provide evidence that the photo of Obama is a US government work, e.g. by linking to what you believe to be the source? If yes, I think we can keep it, the rest is probably ineligible for copyright. darkweasel94 23:29, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It is almost certainly a crop of File:Official portrait of Barack Obama.jpg. Same facial expression, and you can see the edge of the flags in the background. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:24, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks, have removed the tag. darkweasel94 17:37, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
