Possible errors[edit]

Contrary to the descruption at liveauctioneers.com, the 1824 painting of John Savage by Thomas Sully is described as "Seated, head to left with hand resting in coat front" in The Life and Works of Thomas Sully (1921). Said painting is here, and is included in Major Thomas Savage of Boston and his Descendants (1914) along with a Sully portrait of his second wife. No other portrait of John Savage is mentioned in Life and Works, although that may be an incomplete list. This image may be a different John Savage altogether: The figure painted by Sully lived from 1790-1834, dying at 43 years of age. --Animalparty (talk) 00:56, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
