The window is signed and dated - what does it say? /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 12:33, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When I put my message on VP I hesitated to mention that I was not 100% that it was PD by age (would have been fun)... But it seems to be: on the right side it reads "A. Debelle", which should be fr:Alexandre Debelle, a local artist known to have designed some windows and who was active when the windows of the cathedral were made (1879). I can't read any date for sure here, though. I'll update image page. --Eusebius (talk) 13:24, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think I read "A DEBELLE 96", but I would bit a bit surprised that he did that at 91.--Zolo (talk) 23:16, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it said something starting with "18"; there is also a name in the left bottom corner, followed by "Grenoble". /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 23:24, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose that the name of the right is that of the glass maker. Does anyone know a glassmaker from Grenoble called "Moullot" ?--Zolo (talk) 23:34, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I found just one relevant page on Google for "vitraux moullot" It reads: "La réalisation des vingt-huit vitraux est confiée à M. Moullot, peintre verrier à Grenoble, le 4 février 1860" So the only stained glass artist called Moullot that I could find lived in Grenoble in 1860; a coincidence seems rather unlikely. Do I add it in the artist field of the description ?--Zolo (talk) 23:47, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I also assumed Moullot was the workshop in Grenoble, and what you found seems consistent. --Eusebius (talk) 06:47, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So I write "cartoon Alexandre Debelle; stained glass: Moullot". I guess that's it, but please correct if there's a better solution--Zolo (talk) 21:47, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
