File name[edit]

@Fry1989 and Nihonjoe: I oppose the renaming. Since this is not the final version of the flag of Kyrgyzstan.[1][2][3] Mike Rohsopht (talk) 14:56, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We just need to wait for the Council of Ministers to figure things out. So the design you showed was the first project of the design change. The link that I have on the file page had this project listed, but since has been nuked from the servers. I put the document on my Google Drive for reference. The Government also provided a spec sheet for this pattern, which is also from the same Google Drive link. They did have a PDF with an editable flag, which I will upload shortly. Your Google Drive link is not public. Mike Rohsopht (talk) 13:50, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just as I hit enter on the above comment, this document of technical specifications was put on Facebook. I have tried to ask the person who posted these where they came from, but I cannot seem to post. I have asked others (off site) to verify this document. There are currently three versions:
1. The one on the parliament website (this image).
2. The one actually raised from 1 January, which have connected rays. The head of the presidential press service, Daiyrbek Orunbekov claimed that the Cabinet had modified the design to this version.[4]
3. The one from the specifications posted by Otkirbek Rakhmanov, which have a different tunduk.
In fact, the law publish on 26 December did not provide an image of the new flag. Mike Rohsopht (talk) 13:07, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you about the fourth point. As for point 1 and point 3, I roughly made image 1 using the specifications from the parliament website and I knew it was going to have to be refined once official specifications came out/someone had more time to fix it. So my attempt (image 1) is very close to what was posted on that Facebook post (number 3). Number 3 apparently came from the State Committee of National Security. I could not corroborate from any government source about the images. As for image 2, File:Flag_of_Kyrgyzstan_(Proposed_2023).svg. I still had the November 2023 draft law on my computer so I was able to make it from specifications I had. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 23:07, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It turns out that "3" is the final design. A new flag was raised on Ala-Too Square this morning. [5] Mike Rohsopht (talk) 04:39, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I had some time today to fix the tunduk, but I welcome any more fixes and code reduction. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 07:25, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You do know an updated version matching the finalised construction sheet can easily be uploaded over this file. We have that ability. How is that any different from other "Flag of XXXX.svg" files getting updated as often happens? Fry1989 eh? 15:06, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I thought "1", "2" and "3" should be three different files and only the one confirmed to be the final design should be named "File:Flag of Kyrgyzstan.svg". Mike Rohsopht (talk) 03:21, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But since Zscout370 has overwritten his own file, I think it is fine now. Mike Rohsopht (talk) 03:37, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do have design No. 2 as a separate file. There was another variant posted where the tunduk was smaller and the rays alternated in size. However that was only discussed for a day and was never included in any draft legislation. Also, I saw your comment about the Google Drive link and [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xk_BLPNWAcwEWv-yBcQO4J7Q-WS_ER1Z/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=116525517845310918645&rtpof=true&sd=true I fixed it'. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 06:18, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Design No. 2 should have the same tunduk as No. 3. see[6] Mike Rohsopht (talk) 07:55, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I can do that. The original draft laws kept the tunduk from the pre-December flag, but interesting to see the real flags with this new style. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 08:23, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the technical specifications were finally published today. It was signed on 29 December and took effect on that day.[7]. Interestingly, the flag image in the top left corner of the cover page is just a copy of the svg you uploaded yesterday... Mike Rohsopht (talk) 08:25, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
File:Flag of Kyrgyzstan (Proposed 2023 v2).svg here you go User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 08:27, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are some official vector files from the government at https://kenesh.kg/pages/gosudarstvennie-simvoli. I was thinking we could update the emblem in the center. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 11:29, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
