Electric motor is not good example, because windings in Y-connection having approximately symmetric reactance (error <2%) and the current in neutral wire will be only few nanoamperes - that is why nobody uses neutral wire in 3-phase Y-motor and connecting chasis directly to PE or PEN. If the motor is Δ-wired, it doesn't have N-pole at all and neutral wire will be useless in such connection. Also, electric motors are protected by RCD only in swimming pools in real life and even there many owners ignore safety regulations to avoid false RCD trippings. Electric motors commonly are protected by 3-pole circuit breaker and thermal interrupter. Better to replace the motor by electric stove. Dmitry G (talk) 12:17, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
