Wrong[edit]

This image is still wrong like I talked in Image talk:Coat of arms of Vietnam.png, the cogwheel has 10 cogs, not 7 cogs like this, Vietnam is not China. Please consider changing it, otherwise vi.wikipedia will never use Vietnam COA images from Commons, and consult the source URL carefully. vi.wiki's members are using low-resolution jpg but correct version. Vinhtantran 00:10, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can see, http://vi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Việt_Nam is using the .png version from commons.--Avala 15:17, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article was changed by IP in the end of 2007[1], since then, no one note that the logo has been changed. But Wikipedia is not the standard for a country, just take a look at:

Please consider correcting it. Repaint must be the same, not simplify. Vinhtantran 07:21, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The texts in the coat of arms are wrong also. The "hòa", "xã" and "nghĩa" are correct. But the "Công", "hôi "chu" and "VIET NAM" are wrong. --Củ Hành Tôn (talk) 08:01, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How narrow-minded the creator of this picture is. He even didn't care about other users', especially Vietnamese, comments about his work. I wish I were expert in creating SVG to create a new CORRECT one. Vinhtantran (talk) 09:17, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

3-D star[edit]

I think User:Fry1989 needs to read this in English:

  • Source: Drew based on "Q&A law documents on ceremonies, protocols, uniforms applied to national authority and company", Lao dong va xa hoi Publisher 2003, p. 12

Can you give another source for your reverting to non 3D star? Tân (talk) 02:20, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Update[edit]

I request an update of this file. My updated version is this file(first uploaded version). I changed the colors a little bit. I used this image from the vietnamese government website as color reference. Furthermore i changed the code of the file and it's now SVG 1.1 compliant.--MS05L (talk) 16:57, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'm going to  decline this request. The proposed new version appears to be identical to the current one, except for the shade of the yellow color. Given that this image was protected precisely to stop a prolonged edit war about the colors, I don't really feel like continuing the edit was by proxy. If other projects wish to use the version with a brighter shade of yellow, it should be uploaded under a different name so that both will remain available. (In any case, it seems to me that both shades are used even in official sources, as e.g. on this page, so there would seem to be no intrinsic reason to prefer one over the other.) —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 19:54, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed change[edit]

The file should be updated to this version, with a shadow/gradient to make it look less like a pencil sketch and more like a modern insignia.

Oppose. We have several 3D effects files, but if the Government doesn't use it like that, we shouldn't make it look like that. Fry1989 eh? 06:56, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

More emblem proposals vectorization needed[edit]

Hwi.padam (talk) 18:55, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Monochrome version needed[edit]

Why don’t you upload the stamp version of the emblem of Vietnam, please, {{replyto|Sodacan}}?

Colors should be brighter and matching with the Vietnam National Flag of Vietnam?! (as well as some other minor changes requests)[edit]

Hi, according to the Emblem pictures used by the Vietnamese Governmental Agencies, I notice that the color is much brighter (than the current artwork) and much corresponds to the color used on the Flag of Vietnam

I agree that some of the "physical" copies of the Emblem seem darker in real life but I believe that they are actually a result of the material used and/or weathering, and in theory, as well as when it is digitalized, the Emblem images should be in the same color with the State flag.

Besides that, I just find a detail that I believe that was illustrated inaccurately in the current version of Emblem used on the Commons.

The Emblem of Vietnam used on the National Assembly of Vietnam headquarter

Firstly, noting the lowest part of the emblem that is right below the ribbon and the formal name of Vietnam. In most of the images that I attached above (including the National Assembly HQ's "physical" Emblem), the right-wing of that part (from the viewer's P.O.V.) is somehow "above" the left-wing and covering the central parts of the left-wing, and that "coverage" is not illustrated in the current version. Besides that, the Formal name of Vietnam is also written too big in the current version, meanwhile, it is supposed to be slightly smaller and not supposed to touch the lowest edge of the ribbon.

Opinions and contributions from User:Fry1989 are the most important, as he is the author of the current version and engaged in a debate related to the color of this Emblem 12 years ago.

Requesting that the revectorized version present at File:Emblem of Vietnam (fixed for revision).svg or the one below be uploaded under this file name per the request at w:Wikipedia:Graphics_Lab/Illustration_workshop#High_priority_(?!):_Fixing_the_Emblem_of_Vietnam and the above discussion. Request update: fixed version of the emblem[edit]

I propose to change the current file with a more accurate and fixed version.

The current file has many small errors:

  • The shadows of the stars shouldn't be symmetrical
  • The strokes are inconsistent, sometimes too small and sometime too big
  • The wheat design is higly different from the original version used by government
  • The glyph "Ệ" overflows from its container
  • The bottom part of the emblem is inaccurate and doesn't correspond to the original version used by government

Sources to check the correct version of the emblem used by the government:
