Huge dimensions[edit]

Um, just wondering if there should be a warning that this is a massive picture? I clicked it without checking dimensions, and when I did, it was because firefox was broken. Just a thought, as I don't really edit here, mostly on wikipedia, and I wouldn't know what to put anyways. phantasee 198.53.200.80 23:42, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This line directly underneath the image tells you the size: Download high resolution version (16384x8192, 8309 KB). pfctdayelise (translate?) 14:43, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for being a good image?[edit]

Why is this image considered a fine image in wikipedia? The image has jpg compression artifacts all over it. The original at http://eoimages.gsfc.nasa.gov/ve//1438/land_lights_16384.tif (warning large) is so much better. Why are we using jpg and not a png version of this image?Ergzay (talk) 17:02, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

thumbnail not visible[edit]

Any idea why firefox gives the error message "The image http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/21/Earthlights_dmsp.jpg/800px-Earthlights_dmsp.jpg cannot be displayed, because it contains errors."
All the other sizes open without problems, I even changed '800px' to '801px' and no problem at all. The original huge also started to load before I interrupted it. I've had the same problem with few other images also, the size which is the thumbnail size won't show, but any other will. 85.217.36.130 01:46, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That was FF 13.0, but Chrome 19.0 and IE 8.0 have the same problem also. 85.217.36.130 01:53, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
