The tree shown in this image was hit by a vehicle and uprooted on the 23rd Sept 2005. Some of the wood has been saved - it is a fine golden colour in the heart of the tree, with a pale sapwood and a pinkish cambium.

I'm sorry to hear that. This had been my favourite tree in Cambridge for many years. -- Solipsist 23:44, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
