Image creation notes

This vector version was created in Inkscape by working on top of the largest raster image available from The Institute of Heraldry, about 800 pixels in diameter. The 13-point star in the center is shifted slightly upward from the true center of the octagon to match the appearance of the prototype. Since the prototype was in JPEG format and showed considerable mottling due to compression artifacts, colours were determined by blurring selected regions in GIMP and sampling the average colours therein. — Quicksilver^@ 22:07, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
