This image is interesting in that it shows the right hand of God crowning the queen, Matilda, and the left hand crowning Henry. I know of no other instance of the dextera, and sinistra, domini being so assigned to the female, and male, respectively. The right hand of God appeared frequently in Anglo-Saxon art and the art of the Holy Roman Empire around 980-1100 CE.
