Possibly a fake[edit]
According to Vladimir Belyaev there are no records about the paper money of the Kara-Khitan Khanate or even just "the regular" Liao Dynasty, after doing some additional research I haven't been able to confirm the author's claims that this is in fact a Kara-Khitan Khanate banknote. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 11:58, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Donald Trung: I agree there might be a problem. I can't find any online reference for "大遼颁行寳钞", even Chinese ones... पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 06:50, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
- पाटलिपुत्र, a bloke on Wikipedia told me that this was a 19th (nineteenth) century fake designed to trick collectors into buying fake banknotes during the late Manchu Qing Dynasty period. It is still a good image to illustrate these fakes, but I should take it as fake. — Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 07:31, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Donald Trung: Sound quite probable... Thanks! पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 07:54, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
